Artist-in-Residence – Identify artists to work with DuFief students on permanent
Auction and Talent Show Night – One-night school fundraiser coupled with students performing their talents.
Audit Committee – Audit PTA financial records once a year, during the summer.
Author in Residence – Work with Media Specialist to bring in an author to interact
Back to School Picnic – September picnic to welcome students, families and staff.
Bingo – Family night of bingo, prizes, pizza, and snacks.
Books and Bagels – Before-school refreshments and reading for families.
Book Fair – PTA or school sponsored literacy promotion event and fundraiser.
Box Tops for Education – Collect General Mills box tops to redeem for cash.
Budget Committee – Review budget information to establish spending priorities and recommend a budget for the following school year.
Coin Wars – Week long fundraiser in the Fall that involves bringing in pennies (Monday), nickles (Tuesday), dimes (Wednesday), quarters (Thursday), dollars and checks (Friday) on a designated day. Grade level that collects the most money at the end of the week wins a prize.
Community Service – Coordinate various community-wide service projects.
Cultural Arts – Select and schedule PTA-sponsored assemblies that enrich students in all grades throughout the year.
Dining for DuFief – Dine at area restaurants on fundraising days. Restaurants donate a percentage of sales back to the school.
Donuts with Dads – Before-school refreshments with dad(s) or any special adult.
Dragon’s Breath – Monthly online newsletter with PTA and school information.
DragonFest – Annual school fair includes food, games, and a used book sale. Chairs also coordinate ticket sales and volunteers.
Dragon Guides – A Program connects families who are new to the DuFief Elementary School Community with families who are more ‘seasoned’. The goal is to make the transition for newer families (‘New Dragons’) easier and to strengthen our school community.
Dragons On The Run – A morning Fall and Spring run club for boys and girls of all grade levels.
DuFief Cares – Organize volunteers to support DuFief families in crisis.

Events Bulletin Board – Located near the All Purpose Room, this bulletin board contains a calendar of monthly events and PTA information.
Facebook Group – https://www.facebook.com/groups/dufiefpta/ is a closed group, which means that anyone can see the group and who is in it, but only members can see posts.
Movie Night – A fun family night held in the fall.
Fifth Grade Send-Off – Organize fifth-grade student send-off activities. Also known as ‘Memories & Dreams’.
Garden Committee – Care for gardens in front of kindergarten courtyard.
Geography Bee – Coordinate this educational program offered to 4th and 5th
Giant Bulletin Board – Located at the Muddy Branch Giant, this bulletin board contains a school calendar and information that is helpful to DuFief parents.
Girls on the Run – Help girls in grades 3-5 train to run a 5K and build positive self image. Spring and Fall seasons.
Ice Cream Social – Family event with ice cream, entertainment and socializing in the Fall.
International Night– DuFief families celebrate their cultural diversity and students take a trip around the world in one night.
Kindergarten Orientation – April event for incoming kindergarten students.
MCCPTA Delegate – Represent DuFief PTA at the Montgomery County Council PTA meetings and report back at DuFief PTA meetings.
Membership – Coordinate PTA membership drive.
Muffins with Moms – Before-school refreshments with mom(s) or any special adult.
NAACP Parent Council Representative – Attend meetings and distribute information related to NAACP issues.
Reflections – Each year this National PTA Program offers students the opportunity to create works of art for fun and recognition.
Science Fair – Chairperson plans and coordinates student’s presentation of their science fair projects. .
Shopping Dollars for DuFief – Coordinate DuFief’s participation in retail shopping programs, such as Giant, Target, Harris Teeter and Amazon.com.
Special Education Chair – Collect and distribute information for parents of children in our Learning Center.
Spirit Wear – Students and parents can purchase various clothing and amenities that promote school spirit.
Sunshine Committee – Coordinate staff appreciation activities throughout the year and extend expressions of congratulations, sympathy, and good wishes to staff members from the PTA, as appropriate.
Volunteer/SSL Coordinator – Track volunteer hours monthly and honor our volunteer community.
Website – Maintains the PTA website at www.dufiefpta.org.
Wootton Cluster Representative – Represents the interests of DuFief and reports on information received at meetings of the Wootton Cluster.
Yearbook – Annual DuFief yearbook features pictures of students, staff, classroom and other school activities and functions.
