Support Our School

There are many ways that parents can support our school: donations of time, talents, materials and financial support are all necessary. We are thankful for the generous support from the parent and family community that enables the PTA to provide academic and enrichment programs for our students.

The PTA’s annual operating budget is primarily funded through the PTA Membership Campaign and various Fundraisers throughout the school year. A successful Membership Campaign allows us to reduce the number of fundraisers we need to hold during the year.

Volunteer

We have a number of Committee Chair positions available and ask that you consider volunteering your time and talents to making DuFief Elementary School the best in Montgomery County.

PTA Membership Campaign

Membership dues help support or sponsor the cost of our programs, which directly benefit all students. The suggested tax deductible donation amount is $75 per student. Help us achieve our goal of 100% membership.

Coin Wars

Coin Wars kicks off Dragon Week as our major Fall Fundraiser. Each day students bring in coins and the grades with the highest totals win prizes. 100 percent of the money raised goes towards the PTA’s fundraising goals.

DuFief Auction

The annual auction offers a number of wonderful items up for bid. Past items have included pool memberships, summer camps, fitness classes, sightseeing tours, sports memorabilia and too many gift cards to local shops and restaurants to count.

Dining for DuFief

Local restaurants donate a portion of your order back to the school. It is also a great way to connect with people you may not normally see outside of school. Plus, there are no dishes to do.

Read-A-Thon

Students are asked to read 5 hours during the two-week Read-A-Thon and ask friends and family to encourage them through donations. Donations are one-time lump sums not based on minutes or number of books read. Students can then log their reading sessions on their personal page and friends and family can see their progress and post words of encouragement.
