Welcome to DuFief!

Every year, the DuFief PTA organizes programs to support curriculum, enrichment programs and community events.

The DuFief Elementary School Parent Teacher Association (PTA) is a non-profit, all-volunteer group committed to supplementing and improving our children’s educational experiences at DuFief while also helping to maintain the vibrant spirit that exists at our school. Our mission is to enrich the lives of the children attending DuFief Elementary by supporting the school and surrounding community. This site, our Facebook page, and the Dragon’s Breath newsletter all provide information to help you get connected and stay informed about school activities as well as opportunities for getting involved and volunteering.

The DuFief PTA meets a critical need in our school by providing funding for programs, events, and supplies that are not available through the Montgomery County Public School system. To learn more about our programs and activities, click on the Volunteer link and scroll to the bottom to read a brief synopsis about each of our events. To learn more about how PTA funds are invested, please review the Dues & Dollars at Work link.

We look forward to getting to know you this year. Please don’t hesitate to contact us to offer feedback or to volunteer – your time, talent and unique abilities make the difference in our children’s experience here at DuFief Elementary School. Please contact us at dufiefpta@gmail.com.

Who can be a member of the PTA?

All parents/guardians, faculty and staff are invited to become members of the PTA. The only membership requirements include a small fee (which, among other things, helps us cover the cost of county, state and national PTA dues) and that you have a child currently enrolled in DuFief during this school year OR you teach one!

When does the PTA Board meet?

PTA Board meetings for elementary schools in Montgomery County are typically held on the first Tuesday of every month. DuFief PTA Board meetings follow this same pattern with a few, necessary exceptions this year. Please see the Events page to review the monthly calendar.

Meetings are held virtually through Zoom starting at 7pm, and are open to everyone.
